What’s New in CID Season 2?

CID which has been of great nostalgia among its fans for decades. With a great comeback after six years, it was given a very great response by the audience. It was officially announced in October 2024, that CID is coming back in December on its 21^st date. And fans were eagerly waiting by then for fresh season and its episodes.

How far the season has gone? Was it up to public criteria? Has it really recreated its trauma? We are going to discuss all in this article.

As in twitter, people, have been sharing there reactions on the new season. Well one thing really noticed, they are all missing previous iconic characters not yet shown including, Inspector Sachin, Vivek, Dr. Tarika and others as well. Surely no one want them to stay out of the play. They want them all in the show.

One more person, which we can never be forgotten, whose really close to everyone’s hearts and who had been the big entertainer of CID. He’s been discussed again and again, none other than Late Dinesh Phadnis (Inspector Freddy). Yes, he’s been a true inspiration and a big part of the show of making people laugh. In this season, nothing clear has been shown so far about Freddy Sir, just a small discussion on him. But let’s hope there’s going to be something interesting to be done with this character in the upcoming episodes.

Access Problem

Fans have been really fad up due to this scenario, with really willing to CID, and cannot reach it easily. You Tube is an easy platform for them to reach out for the upcoming episodes, but unfortunately, this comfort is not present for the fans. So this has caused them problems. And I can say if there are some downs in the TRP, then we can say that yes, it is a big reason. While ,the episode does not directly launches on YouTube, rather, it launches first on Sony Television and then for online streaming on Sony Live. And the episode comes after 4-5 days of its release on You Tube.

There are some news that SonyLIV is not available outside India due to licensing and regional restrictions. These limitations are imposed by content owners and distributors who grant streaming rights for specific regions. Here’s why this happens:

Content Licensing Agreements:
SonyLIV acquires rights to stream shows, movies, and sports from various producers. These agreements often include clauses that restrict broadcasting to certain countries.

Cost of Licensing for International Markets:
Expanding to global markets requires negotiating new licensing deals, which can be costly. SonyLIV might choose to focus on the Indian market due to a high demand and cost-efficiency.

Local Competition:
In international markets, there are established OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu, which already are available to global audiences. Competing in these markets might not be viable for a platform like SonyLIV.

Regulatory Compliance:
Different countries have distinct laws regarding broadcasting and digital streaming. SonyLIV would need to adhere to these regulations, which can complicate operations.

For users outside India, using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) is one way to access SonyLIV by virtually changing the location to India. However, this may violate SonyLIV’s terms of service, so proceed with caution.
